Basketball

The vaunted ACC, which at 7 had the most invitations to the NCAA’s, is down to 1 team after the first weekend of play. That’s right – only UNC is in the sweet 16. Boston College, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Virginia and Duke are all out by the second game.

In the NIT, all 3 ACC teams are still alive. That’s 3 of the final 8 teams: NC State, Florida State and Clemson.

Four of the remaining teams are number 1 seeds: Miss State, Clemson, West Virginia and Air Force. The rest are number 2 and 3 seeds except for number 6 seed NC State.

Tonight NC State faces West Virginia.

This is going to be a very tough game for NC State.

I’m in Winston-Salem this week so I’m glad I have basketball to watch after work. NIT on Monday and Tuesday - NCAA’s on Thursday.

What will I do Wednesday night?

Maybe I’ll go out to eat with the people here in W-S.

Anniversary

On to more important things.

Today is the anniversary of the start of the war in Iraq.
