Saturday, October 7 + Addendum

Picked up the truck first thing this morning. Thursday, it started cutting off when at idle - took it to CrossRoads Ford at lunch. Needed an idle air control valve replaced.

Spent the rest of the morning helping a co-worker move.

Just got home and am watching the Wake Forest 17 - Clemson 3 game as I write this entry - 4th quarter. I'm pulling for Wake. We play them next Saturday and it would be nice to play (and beat) an undefeated Wake Forest.

What a great couple of days of football. Thursday, NC State won a hard fought game against Florida State. It was a great game. Some friends of Nuke's came up from Ft. Bragg and went to the game with us. F went to Nebraska and D is a Georgia fan. It's good to go to games where everybody is knowledgeable about the game.

This ESPN link provide a good write up of the game and contains a video worth watching to capture the feel for the game.

This is why I love college football so much.

Darn; 2 turnovers by Wake. In the last 3 minutes they've let Clemson back into the game. It's tied up with 11 minutes left.

Nuke just walked in the door from running errands. It's a chilly wet day - he's collecting felled wood from the tree clearing he's done and is building a fire. Nice and toasty.

Clemson has made an unbelievable come back in the 4th quarter and won 27 - 17. What a dissapointment for Wake Forest.

No other plans for the weekend. I'll addendum if anything worth while comes up.

Addendum

Invited some friends over for dinner Sunday. Everybody showed up around 5 PM. We had shrimp, kielbasa, corn on the cob, potato salad and ice cream with fresh fruit. And beer. Had a good time visiting. Everybody left around 8:30 or so since Monday is a work day. Watched a move on TV and was in bed by 10.

This week, I'm working out of town in Goldsboro. Had to stop by the O'Berry Center to finish up some work (see earlier post). While there, I bought a very nice pottery bowl from the gift shop. The O'Berry residents make a variety of crafts. Proceeds fund resident programs. As I've said in a prior post - the O'Berry Center is a very happy place.

I think it will go on the dinning room table.
