Did not make the Tulum tour at this port. Will have to try for that on the fall cruise which stops here.
Winds were huge today and many excursions were cancelled due to the high winds.
Instead, the whole gang got a driver and van to take us to a public beach on the leeward side of the island. The east side of Cozumel is totally undeveloped. There is a new multilane road under construction that cuts across the middle of the island and will open up the east side to development.
The public beach had a small restaurant and bar. We pretty much spent the whole day sitting in the shade and talking. Had a few drinks, chips, guacamole and salsa. Hot salsa. Very hot salsa.
It was a nice relaxing way to spend the day.
Did I mention the salsa was really hot?
